Learn how to recognizing inconsistencies and mistakes in medical terms. Learn how to editing dictated materials so that it is consistent and understandable without changing the original meanings. Dictation includes human diseases that are frequently first diagnosed and treated in the medical office or hospital setting, disease descriptions, causes, signs and symptoms, diagnostic procedures, treatment, prognoses, and prevention. Transcribe specific medications according to classifications, generic, and trade names, dosages, and primary purpose in the treatment of health problems. Students develop proficiency in proper spelling and pronunciation of medications and efficient researching of medications in resources. Transcribe advanced medical terminology of clinical medicine including, diagnostic tests, surgery, laboratory medicine, pharmacology, radiology, pathology, psychiatry, and procedures related to medical specialties, histories, physicals, and autopsy reports. Students work toward increased transcription production while refining proofreading and editing skills in hands-on practice.
